Frequently I hear people write and talk about a Bible believing church and how hard it is to find. Frankly, for me, it is impossible to find. Much of the time the discussion is in the context of their vision of what man has taught them.
In context of Scripture, though there is only one “Bible” believing church in this world. It is not something you will see with your own eyes. It is not a group of people gathering in a building listening to one man preach the word. It is simply people around the world walking after Jesus in the manner that He has called us.
18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him. (Mat. 4:18-20)
18 And when Jesus saw great multitudes about Him, He gave a command to depart to the other side. 19 Then a certain scribe came and said to Him, “Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go.”
20 And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”
21 Then another of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.”
22 But Jesus said to him, “Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead.” *Mat 8:18-22)
34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 For I have come to ‘set[j]a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36 and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ 37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. (Mat 10:34-39)
Think about this. There are very few of us willing to lose our life for His sake. Literally and spiritually.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5 Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”(John 10:1-5)
“The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. 24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much[d]grain. 25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. (John 12:23-26)
Let us then follow HIM who died for our sins and not those of the flesh. For there is only one who can save us. Jesus the Christ. One born of Spirit & flesh. Who died the gruesome death nailed to a tree. But who rose from the dead 3 days after.
What does a Bible believing assembly of believers look like? Paul describes this in his letters to the Corinthians. Bolstered by the other letters. I will exhort you to study that on your own.
Brother Al, where 2 or more are gathered together, there He will be in the midst. I always seem to end up in dinky towns, having moved now to a small town in NM. I would love to find some folks willing to worship and study with me like they did in the early church. This is TRUE church….trouble is, people always want to get me into their apostate church and I am forbidden to do that by the Lord.
That said, even if it’s just you and your missus in assembling, the Holy Spirit will be there as you honor the Lord.
Blessings,
Scarlett
Amen sister, I agree. I met a couple months ago with a church leader for lunch. He was polite and listened, but wanted to get me into his Bible study. I’m not opposed to that so that seeds can be planted, but not to joining their church. The Lord is beginning to open doors for me in great ways to plant seeds in others lives though. A lot of that has to do with how the Lord is prospering us in our business before others. We seem to be an unlikely success story coming out. All honor and glory to God for what He is doing.
I’m happy to hear the Lord is working through you in your business…..
Yes, and be careful of those “bible studies” run by and controlled by man and not the Holy Spirit, because that is wrong from the very get go.
The Lord is returning for His church, not a denomination or a specific building. That said some will be taken from within “church” buildings and some will be taken who are not in a building. The question is, are we walking with God? Some replace walking with God with “going to church” which is a deception but (but) –
some walk with God and attend a fellowship in a church building and
some walk with God and don’t go into church buildings
– both walk with God…
The church building is just a meeting place (like someones house) as long as I you are not signing up to the dotted line with any “church” document. I have managed to find a place like this…they don’t ask you to “become a member” – we are free to praise the Lord and worship him and discuss his word…some have views that I disagree with and some have views that I align myself with but they profess Christ. It is Christ who is building his church – that is not my task – I am to walk with God.
I talk to many young believers who do not attend any fellowship because of the bad experiences they have had in them and I can agree with them and I pray that they walk with God. It is such a mess today isn’t it…but the Lord knows who are His.
God bless
God Bless brother, it’s been awhile. I don’t completely disagree with you my friend, and I know you mean well. But I can’t disregard the Lord’s teaching to follow a better path as well as point the way to the Lord for others. Even if it means walking the path alone for a while. I have been through too much for His name’s sake to cave in now and let things be as they are. The people in institutions are weak and blind to too much of the truth. They hang on to every word of the pastor regardless if it is true or not. They test not the spirits and digest whatever they care for. More candy than meat. I will not forsake His work in me. As I always point to Revelation 17 & 18 as the example of what will happen to those caught up in the institutions. Anything less is a compromise. But I know He is pulling others out. I see Him working in those I am in contact with here.
We have been looking for a Bible KJV Church for years . We live in a north eastern suburb of Phoenix. We are baptized in the Holy Spirit . We believe we are living in the end days before the rapture. Is there a Church in Phoenix that believes this way ? kjbrandt13807@gmail.com
Kathleen, Blessings in Christ Jesus. Please forgive for not seeing your comment sooner. I do not live in that area, nor am I focused on the KJV Bible. If I am in a deep study I have several versions and study guides. This includes a Bible keyed to the the Strong’s numbers to correspond to Greek or Jewish words. At any rate, let the Spirit guide you. It’s not about meeting at a building, but to be that brick in what He is building. It may take years, it may not. It’s up to Him. No matter what. Keep up your strength in these last days.
