In this world you have many people searching out the treasures or relics of the Bible. From Noah’s Ark, to the Ark of the Covenant carried by the nation of Israel from Moses to either the first fall of the Temple or the second Fall when Jesus arose from the dead. Let’s not forget the never ending search for the cup our Lord drank from at the His last supper before crucifixion. While some of these things were important vessels in the lessons God is teaching us, it is less important than the lesson. What I mean is these are things not meant to be idolized as some of these people searching for these things seem to do. They are part and parcel to the story of our fallen nature and His glorious plan to reconcile us through His blood.
Jesus said this:
44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
(Mat. 13-44-45)
Do you see? Our salvation in Christ is the treasure in the field, or the pearl of great value. For without Him we are nothing. The author and finisher of our faith. Brothers and Sisters I may write less often, but the truth of this treasure must go out to the entire world! Won’t we be found guilty of other peoples blood if we remain silent?
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. (Mat. 6:19-24)
