The Greatest Gift of All

In this season of giving gifts, have you considered the greatest gift of all? A gift that takes away the burdens of life, of guilt, of oppression? It is commonly referred to as a gift of salvation. A gift that will set you free from your guilt and the traditions of this world. You should know by now I am speaking of Jesus who became Christ, the final sacrifice for the remission of sins for many. This same Jesus declares to us:

16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” 22 So all bore witness to Him, and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, “Is this not Joseph’s son?” (Luke 4:16-22)

To those who are conflicted about Jesus and what he stands for. I was once conflicted and resistant as well. I couldn’t understand why I would want to follow a way that pulled me away from drinking, chasing women and living life for myself. But as He continued to call out to me and I realized how dead I was, how could I continue a lifeless life?

20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. (Rev. 3:20)

And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”

And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Rev 21:3-8)

If you find yourself on this blog, the Lord Himself has brought you here. If you have any questions I can help with, I will point the way to the Lord. I will pray with you that the Lord will open your eyes to the truth and that He alone helps you to understand who He is, what His purpose is and how to follow Him. God Bless you in this time of gifts. Let the gift of Salvation be granted to all who desire relief from this world to enter the Kingdom of God.
