Multitudes are shut up in ecclesiastical systems, within sectarian boundaries, while God’s great, free pasture lies out before them, only limited by the encircling Word of God. “There shall be one fold, and one shepherd” (John 10:16). Traditional theology, partial truth and revelation, soon become law. The conscience is utterly bound, like Chinese footbinding, shut up against further progress.
