Here are just a few verses that show us to be humble. The Lord has been talking to me a little about being humble. Admittedly, even though I think I’m humble much of the time in my life, I haven’t been very humble in all areas. But here’s the thing. If we are humble in all areas of our life, then doesn’t it make sense that we will have a peace in our spirit? When we are humble, we become more teachable. When we are humble we can submit one to another. More important, when we are Humble we are submitted to the Lord in His will. Then He can be Glorified.

That said, our Father has His ways of shaping us, and a willingness to be humble is a sure sign of someone who is done trying to exalt himself at the expense of those around them.
Surely humility is not one of the more glaring character traits of my own life, yet every true believer respects and admires a humble man or woman of God. That shouldn’t be a motivating factor towards being humble, though it is a good reminder of the value of a calming influence among the brethren from those whose lives are worthy to be followed as they follow Christ.
