There’s a terrible truth that needs to be told. This will step on people’s toes and give a blow to egos everywhere, including us who are writing this. The terrible truth is this: Bible believing Christians who are supposed to be united around truth are more divided than Heretics who are united around lies.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” (Matthew 24:9-13)
We live in a day and age where heresy is prevailing over the truth of God’s Word. Men and women who claim to be apostles and prophets of God are proclaiming doctrines of demons from within Churches, and yet, Heretics don’t openly attack each other like Gospel believing Christians do on the internet.
Just as an example of how loyal Heretics are to each other, it took well over TWO YEARS for Amanda Wells to have any sort of accountability for shamelessly publishing stolen blogposts and articles from various authors across the internet in her books. All of the Elijah List “Prophets” were notified twice; once in November of 2015, and again in November of 2016. Despite this, NONE OF THEM publicly rebuked Amanda Wells for her refusal to repent of her sins.
On the opposite extreme you have Christians who trust that Christ died for their sins not only REFUSING TO RECONCILE with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, but they openly and viciously attack, slander, and defame the brother or sister in Christ who has repented and asked for forgiveness.
“Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.
“Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants. When he began to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. And since he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made. So the servant fell on his knees, imploring him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.’ And out of pity for him, the master of that servant released him and forgave him the debt. But when that same servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii, and seizing him, he began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay what you owe.’
So his fellow servant fell down and pleaded with him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you.’ He refused and went and put him in prison until he should pay the debt. When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their master all that had taken place. Then his master summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. And should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?’ And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers, until he should pay all his debt. So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.” (Matthew 18:21-35; Emphasis ours)
Far too many Christian men who should be leading by example are acting like immature children whenever they refuse to repent and own their sins when it’s pointed out to them and whenever they refuse to forgive and reconcile with repentant brothers and sisters in Christ. It’s really no wonder that Heresy is running rampant in the Body of Christ. God have mercy on us.
